CB24 LCD Display Fields
Introduction
The CB24 product has a wonderful realtime debugging tool, the front
panel LCD. On this display you can basically "see" what is happening
inside the box, on the T1 and on the analog lines!
Information
There are four basic areas to the display.
1) Top right side, the basic mode area.
- T1 Signalling - IMED, WINK, LOOP, etc. tells you what signaling is
used for T1 communications. Note that DIFF means that there are
different signalling settings for at least one channel from the rest.
The CB24 is capable of having a different signalling type per channel!
- Channel Type - FXS, FXO or MIX - FXS and FXO tell you that the entire
CB24 is of a fixed analog type, while MIX tells you that the unit is a
CB24-MOD unit with at least one FXS and one FXO modular card installed
-
Firmware Revision - 1.19a tells you that this is main version 1,
release 19 and build "a". The letter code, if present, tells you that
this is a beta release. If there is no letter code, this is considered
a production release
- Framing Type - ESF or D4
2) Top left side, the signaling data for all 24 channels (if present) for both the Tx and Rx side
- Remember that the display data is in regards to the CB24, Rx means what it is receiving, and Tx is what it is receiving.
- There are many number and letter codes for the data here, the basic meaning is (ABCD):
A = the T1 signalling is 1000
B = the T1 signalling is 0100
C = the T1 signalling is 0010
D = the T1 signalling is 0001
0 = the T1 signalling is 0000
1 = the T1 signalling is 1111
- note that on the Tx side, there also can be indication of the ring cycle
n = nothing going on, in the IDLE ring period
R = FXS line should be ringing
r = FXS line is generating ringback tone
- if there is a T1 problem, channel 1 on the Tx will indicate a numeric value, call Rhino for help on this one!
3)
The bottom third line of the display, when the keys are unlocked, will
toggle between three lines. Look to the right side for the line
definition.
- <---signalling this tells you the letter code of the signaling selected for each channel
L = loop
I = immediate
W = wink
- <--- channel this tells you the analog type
S = FXS
O = FXO
. = a period (.) in this location means that there is no analog channel present.
4) When the keys are unlocked, the last line is the soft menu, with selection definitions above each of the red buttons.
